My 2003 toyota tacoma will not turn on with the keys in the ignition. The brakes are locked.?

Default My 2003 toyota tacoma will not turn on with the keys in the ignition. The brakes are locked.?

Sounds like the wheel is locked not the brakes

Steering column is just locked. Pull the wheel down to one side, while turning the key at the same time, that will unlock it.

If neither of the two worked, once our Toyota Sienna XLE minivan would not start after I had ran several errands and I had to call AAA from a shopping center. The tow truck driver came and initially no luck, and was about to tow but then he said he wanted to try one last thing & he moved/shifted the gears and I presumed returned to Neutral or Park...Guess what? the engine started and I guess it was somehow stuck between gears?
