Is it safe to drive in the "2" gear in a Toyota Corolla?

Default Is it safe to drive in the "2" gear in a Toyota Corolla?
My sister has a 2004 toyota corolla and she wants to know if it is safe to drive in the "2" on an automatic transmission. There is P, R, N, D, 2, L. I told her it is but she wanted me to check. She says she likes the feel and sound of the car when it is in the "2" gear.

not for daily driving, thats what drive gear is for. 2nd is for like pulling steeper hills, than you would originally pull in drive. and low is for snowy ass covered drive ways and all that.

driving in 2 will result in engine overload and engine overheat. it is not safe. drive only in D.

She likes the engine noise which actually means it is revving higher and wasting gas. More RPMs mean less engine life in the long run. For general driving, use "D"; if you need a kick, such as passing a car at lower speeds, put it in 2. For times when you wnt to avoid wheel spin - snow, being stuck in sand or mud, use "L" and gently give it gas.
