the turbo 7M-GTE that was originally an option in the car puts out 230hp stock, and is capable of over 500 hp. why not keep things simple and put an engine in there that doesn't require any modifications to fit, take the money you have from not having to make extra fitment mods, and put that money into a larger turbo, exhaust and intercooler system. You could easily push 300hp.
Or you could just drop a Chevy 350 in it since there seem to be small block chevy conversion mounts and headers out there for every rear wheel drive car ever made.
