08 toyota yaris huming at 70 mph on hyw .what couldt it be?

Default 08 toyota yaris huming at 70 mph on hyw .what couldt it be?
the car runs wonderful for a small car: the only bad thing is that humming sound on the hwy at 65 and up when accelerating. the hum is not constant it sounds like this:humm....humm...humm,etc















[aka : sound fades between each humm]

I think it's probably just the little engine, they tend to do that. Mine does it sometimes too.

cars begin to make noises and rattle at high speeds, if it's really bad then take it to the dealer. The cheaper the car, the more it'll rattle and make noise at high speeds (the yaris falls into this category).

Nobody can tell based on that description. If it's a noise you didn't notice when you test drove the car and it's bothering you, bring it back to the dealer to have them look at it. Probably isn't anything serious, but since you have the car under warranty, it doesn't hurt to have them look at it.

Sometimes these things are cause by a malfunction. Since it is Toyota, I give you 90% guarantee that it is not a problem. Engines in small cars suppose to make such noise at certain speeds (not necessary high speed).































I assume the car is under warranty. Take it to the dealership and have them test it.































My parents brought a 2008 RAV4WD Sport. I can't wait to pick it up from the dealer on Monday. I am so excited!

It is probably road noise from the tires. Or it could have been the road surface causing the noise. Either way, everything on here is speculation since your description was somewhat vague. Go to the dealer and have them check it out.
