S manual: 26/35 city/highway MPG

XRS manual: 22/30 city/highway MPG

S auto: 27/35 city/highway MPG

XRS auto: 22/30 city/highway MPG

The S and XRS are the more "sportier" versions of the Corolla. Generally the XRS is more expensive than the S, because it has more standard features (like cruise control, larger wheels, rear spoiler, leather-trimmed shifter). The XRS has lower MPG than the S because the XRS has a higher horsepower engine.

Nothing much except you are getting a few more goodies that you did not get in the other ones. I have an 09 LE & will be trading it in probably for a 2010 XLE or XRS. I know the Corollas can not stay on the showroom floor now because they have such good mileage. I get very good mileage on my 09. I hope this has helped you in deciding which one to get. My best advice to you is to check all of them out before you purchase one. I also know for fact that the dealers are willing to negotiate with you since not too many people are buying cars these days because of the econimy crisis.
