Camry 2000 LE Engine Light becomes on and off again and again?

Default Camry 2000 LE Engine Light becomes on and off again and again?
I mean the Engine light will be on for few miles (like 50-60) and then turns off for some time...again it will become on and remains for some time and again turns off... this is repeating from couple of weeks

If you check engine light flashes then that means there is a problem with your catalytic converter and should take it to a shop immediately before further damage can be avoided.

It can be a varity of things.















I have the same car, and had the SAME problem.































Go to a parts store like AutoZone or Advanced and have them read the codes the computer stores when the light comes on. They do it for free and it will tell you the problem. It can be anything from a misfire, to a trans slipping. You sometimes get them for a loose gas cap or an O2 sensor. You never know until you get it checked out. And it's free.































I went and had a disconected sparkplug. It somehow got taken off.















Maybe get your oil changed.

it means you havent spent any money lately...dont be cheap, take it in and get it looked at. That or guess at throwing parts at it and when you get to $400, ask yourself if it would be cheaper to have someone look at it that knows what they are doing.

when the check engine light comes on that means there is a malfunction in your engine somewhere and you would def. wanna get it in to a dealer as soon as possible. I wouldn't take it to an auto zone just because they are not specialized in your vehicle... they work on all makes and models they just know the basics. Go to an authorized toyota repair facility. They are specialized in your vehicle and all Toyota's have a 12 month unlimited mile warranty on all work that they complete. The prices are very competitive as well ask your service advisor what they can do for you and guarantee they will be able to take some kinds of discounts off... Its very worth it.
