Can I put regular unleaded fuel in a 04 Toyota Solara Sport (V6)?

Default Can I put regular unleaded fuel in a 04 Toyota Solara Sport (V6)?
The manual says unleaded gasoline, octane rating 87 (research octane number 91) or higher. For improved vehicle performance, the use of premium unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 (research octane number 96) or higher is recommended. When I put 87 octane in my 2000 Solara it cost a lot of money because I had to have the spark plugs replaced, which 3 were located under the engine. It was a huge ordeal to change the spark plugs on that car. Any help is much appreciated!

The manual gives you the answer. And your own experience tells you what happens when you use the different octanes. Is it worth the extra cost in fuel to use the 91, or the repair expenses to use the 87? Do the math and take it from there
