Towing with a 2 wheel drive only?

Default Towing with a 2 wheel drive only?
Is it really necessary to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to tow or pull a 2200lbs boat? I have a Toyota 4runner with V8 engine. But it is only a 2WD, Rear wheel drive model. Is it capable of pulling a bass boat from the water on a.. 15 degrees inclined ramp? I'm just looking at them, they have 4-wheel drive...















The boat I'm eyeballin is 2300lbs w/ trailer.















I mean the weight of the boat is 2300lbs. I don't know the trailer.

You do not need 4wd to tow a boat. Your truck should do fine.

You don't need 4wd to tow, but when you pull it out of the water your rear wheels will be wet and may lose traction. 4wd may be necessary to get the boat out of the water.

people been doing it for many yrs with smaller trucks with smaller motors... a bass boat you could pull out of the water with a old vw bug
