Default Is driving a 2009 corolla LE at about 3,000 rpm on the freeway bad?
I heard that when driving a new car, particularly under 1k miles, you can't drive up to 3,000 rpm. Is this true?

I have never heard that before.















I did hear from a mechanic after I replaced my engine with a new one that for awhile you shoud drive at speeds of no greater then 30 mph cuz it helps you get better gas mileage.

no thats old tales your car will be broken in it will have been tested and you know the people testing arent going to be giving it all nice especially sports cars there put through there paces on a track to ensure it is perfect but if i were you read the manual with the car and do what the manufacture recommends or atleast use as a guide line

30 MPH? Sure, try that on the highway!































It's a myth. There is no break in period recommended on new Toyotas (or on most new cars), and 3000 RPM is just fine for a Corolla. They don't have a high top-end speed and they are geared more for quickness than low RPM highway cruising, so it will get a little noisy at 70+ MPH.

with the Toyota's i have had 3k rpm in 5th gear is 80mph only bad if cops are around don't worry about damage toyota engines are very reliable
