alternator voltage regulater and alt fusible link ?

i am looking for a fusable link for my alternator or charging system whatever its called one guy said it would be a wire coming off the alt but its hard to see the alt because this is a 1991toyota mr2 turbo mid-engine car and alt is near bottom of car behind passanger rear tire but in fuse box under hood(aka)front of the car there is a alt sensing fuse a small one and a big square fuse that says ( F L ALT 120amp ) is that the fuseible link if so how do i check to see if its good

also wondering if this car has a external voltage regulater or if its in the alt im not too sure

That 120 AMP fuse is the Fusible Link. Hence why it's 120 AMP's.

All newer Cars/Trucks have internal regulators. If you have a problem with the Regulator, just replace the Alt. It's so much easier.

I'm sure the car has an internal voltage regulator (inside the alternator). Yep your output wire is fused, no fusible link. 120 amps is the total output of your alternator. Your lucky, because fusible links can be a pain to find because they are a part of the wire and the harness usually need to taken apart to find them.

That is your fusible link it should have a little plastic window on the top so you can look inside and see if the cooper wire is broke.if you have a multi meter you can check for continuity or you can just replace it doesn't cost much.

The voltage regulator is built into the alternator if you are having trouble with the alternator just replace
