How come 1993 and newer Supras can make 1000+ horsepower so easy?

I recently looked at some on Ebay and noticed that many of them were pushing extreme power levels. One of the sellers said he could get more power out of it, but he only wanted a 1000 horsepower car!

I just don't get it, they only have a 3.0 I6 turbo motor (or twin turbo). And this power is apparently achieved using the stock engine block. It would make sense if these engines generated like 700 horsepower with TONS of boost, but it seems like they'd have to run about 100psi to get 1000+hp.

Stock Engine blocks can withstand alot my pressure than you'd think. Ford's 5.4L Trition V8 makes 300HP naturally aspirated...nothing too impressive. with a supercharger and the correct pulley it makes about 550HP now add Twin Turbo's and tune them to 16lbs of boost and your looking at 1200HP Twin charged. a Supercharger for off the line and even out the Turbo Lag then when the Turbo kicks in look out there goes a rocket. Imagine how much HP this engine would make if the turbos were oushed to their limit of 28lbs of boost.

Toyota engineering is all i can say. it is amazing how much power that inline 6 can make.

you can "only" get a real 600-700 HP out of a Supra with decent, but not extreme mods and racing fuel. 1000+ requires NOS and a bunch of other engine-breaking trouble...

The Supra engines have lots of potential and so do Nissan engines and Honda engines.

That is why they are very popular tuner cars. You can get 1000HP out of those engines.

1st. a stock supra has under 300hp

2nd.psi has nothing to do with the motor it has to do with the tires.

How come 1993 and newer Supras can make 1000+ horsepower so easy?
