Default Toyota Camry 09?

My dad wants to buy Camry 09 and wants answers to these questions:

Does it have any transmission problems?

How does it handle on the road and highway?

Does it have any problems that 08 and 07 have?

In General what problems does it have?

*Note he makes around 25k miles in 10-12 months.

I have an 2007 Camry SE V6. I ahaven't had any problems at all It has 36000 miles on it in a year and a half. I haven't ever had any transmissions issues. I love it but I am getting a 2008 Highlander Sport in a couple of weeks because I have 3 kids an need the 3rd row seat. But, the camry is a great car. I have friends that have SE 4cylinders, LE 4 cylinders. they all love their cars. I wouldn't get rid of mine except I need more room.

Early 2007 Camry V6 models had an issue with transmission failures attributable to the transmission supplier. They affected relatively a few of the 2007 models. All transmissions were replaced with new ones and the customers were made whole. There are no current problems with the Toyota Camry.

Michael, I own an 04 Camry 4 cylinder automatic SE model. It's only been in the shop once for an anti-knock sensor under warranty.

I would strongly suggest the SE model because of the handling package, bigger tires and wheels.

I have heard also of many transmission problems with the five speeds behind the V6 engine. I drove one and didn't like the feeling of the transmission. It felt awfully sloppy and hesitated like it didn't know when to shift from varying speeds.

The new six speed transmission in the new V-6 Chevrolet Malibu is much more positive.
