If the problem is only when your lights are switched on check something else out.
Switch your lights off and get someone to look at the front of your car, and press the brakes.
If your front lights come on when you press the brakes the answer is simple, one of your rear bulbs is faulty. They have two filaments in them for tail light/ brake light, these can sometimes touch each other.
So you have a cross short, meaning parking lights bring brake lights on and brake lights bring parking lights on
It can also happen if the wrong bulb has been fitted, if someone has put a single contact bulb in a twin contact holder the single contact on the bottom of the bulb can bridge the two contacts in the holder.
In both cases it's just a bulb that needs changing.
I have a 97 corolla and I love it!!!
