If you shut off the engine with the steering wheels turned hard in either direction, your steering lock would jam the switch, you know what I mean? If you were to let go of the steering wheel with the key still on the wheel would spin a bit back toward center. If you don't let the steering relax before shutting down it is difficult to turn the key. Try wiggling the steering wheel next time it happens. You may have to put some serious oooomph into it, turn it so the wheels would be returning to center. From now on let go of the steering wheel before shutting the engine off. Had to jack the front end of my nephews work truck once to get the steering to relax enough to turn the key.
