2002 Celica Can u bend all 4 valves downshifting?
On a downhill yesterday, going approx. 80, downshifted quickly due to being cut off. Never hit the red line. Then downshifted to a stop because of a red light. Stopped. Put engine in neutral. Engine stalled. Wouldn't restart. There was no compression, but no horrible noises.
Towed to dealership, same one that replaced engine. Said there was nothing on the chip. They checked the timing, it was okay. They scoped the block and are saying all 4 valves are bent. They want to crack it open, but warned me that it may not be under warranty and the cost to open it will be $300.00.
Whats going on here? I'm not a mechanic, and have no idea how this could have happened or is it possible to bend all 4 valves.
