Default Toyota Hybrid battery charger?
I've read about dealers having a $35,000+ charger in some of their auto shops to charge a hybrid. Usually I return home at a 30% charge or less and wonder if someone made a charger for the public at a more realistic price?

that charger is for when the hybrid battery goes completely dead. and dealerships don't have them the area Toyota tech support have them. You should never need to charge the hybrid battery. The car does it for you.

Also note that the MFD only shows a range of ~40-80% charge so no bars is actually about 40% SOC and all bars is about 80% SOC. It is set up this way to greatly extend the useful life of the battery. If all devices with a rechargeable battery treated it as well as the Prius treats its NiMH battery the whole "must be replaced every 3-5 years" thing would never have gotten started.
