Default Can i put a 22r engine in my 1977 toyota 4x4 pickup using the stock transmission for the
stock 20r engine? i have a 1977 toyota 4x4 truck. i want to put a 22r in it and get rid of the stock 20r engine. will a 22r work with the stock transmission for the stock 20r engine that came in the truck?

the transmission bolt pattern and flywheel is the same. you will need to use the 22r exhaust manifold and header pipe and fab it to your exhaust. you can use the 20r intake on the 22r. also the isn't a hole for a manual fuel pump on the 22r, so you will probaly need an electric pump. hope this helps
