how can i remove the main reqrd in dash board of toyota yaris?

Default how can i remove the main reqrd in dash board of toyota yaris?
i change the oil filter and oil already but the main reqrd is still there

turn the key to off. press and hold the trip odometer reset button. while holding the reset button, turn the key to on. there should be 5 little dash type lines count down on the display where the miles normally are. when its done (5 seconds?). let go of the reset button and you are done. if that doesnt do it, press the trip odometer button again to put it on trip "a". then turn key off, press reset, turn on and see if that works. on a yaris its either regular miles or trip A.
