how do you turn off security alarm on a toyota camery?

Default how do you turn off security alarm on a toyota camery?
mother inlaw lost her hand held remote to activate and deactivate the security alarm and now the car just turn over and not starting. the security light is on

Find the BCM. Next with a wiring diagram, locate the wire that goes to the door locks to deactivate the alarm. Cut that wire. From the BCM you should touch that wire to any exposed metal part (not painted) and it will deactivate the alarm.

no no...Dont go cut any wires--cribbey sakes...... you didnt mention what year Camry and if it has immobilizer(fat) keys. The keyless fobs are just that....a convenience to unlock and shut off the alarm. The plain ol mechanical key should unlock the doors and cancel the alarm to be able to start the car-unless there is some other issue not stated. If the drivers door lock does not cancel the alarm, then go to the passenger side and cycle the door lock cylinder on that side-again try to start the car.(Each door has a switch to unlock and cancel the alarm--ie: if you have a key you are probably the owner.) Where in the world are you, and what model is it?















The widebody Camry can have the alarm over-ridden. Just leave the key in the ignition in the 'on' position for 45 minutes or so, and the car should be right to start.















The light on the cluster will go out, meaning the car can be started. Visit the dealer to get a new remote.
