its that big round thing stuck to the sie of the engine under the intake or exhaust manifold

get under it and look in front of where the drive would sit you should see it right up in there across from the back of the wheel!

the 2006 toyota 4runner does not have an external filter like most vehicles. that year they produced an internal filter that needs to be replaced every 100,000 miles. Usually the change occurs when you need the timing belt and water pump replaced, since everything can be done at the same time.

They are all wrong. on this new toyota v6 the oil filter is on top of the engine. Its not internal and its not below or beside engine as usual. Open youre hood and the oil filter is invereted and it is right in front of your face. If it is factory filter it will be black in color. This makes it very easy to take off and change oil.

Is it the 4.0 L? If it is, open the hood, it is located to the left















of the battery in a "funnel" next to the engine cover.
