It depends on how you drive it and how good you maintain it.

It all comes down to abuse, maintenance and a lot of luck. I have one friend who drives a vintage Datzun Z with over a quarter million miles on it still with original internal engine components. I've also had a friends engine explode with less than 10k (after a day at the track)































If you know it's history, you'll have a easier time predicting it's future.

Well cared for and well maintained:400,000 miles easily. That 5S-FE engine is just that reliable. It's unquestionably one of the most reliable engines ever built- low maintenance, easy serviceability, cast iron engine block, non-interference engine design....... Should I go on?

if those motors are anything like the one i had in my 73 Celica gt it should go past 4 hundred thousand mile mark that was on my 73. mine hit 4 hundrend and 50 thousand miles so who knows toyota makes good cars the body will rust out before the motor stops running!
