2009 Toyota Corolla Alarm Keeps on Going Off?
I bought a 2009 Corolla LE about 2 months ago and had a dealer installed alarm on it. I noticed that the honk goes off a few times daily at random times so I took it to the dealer to have the alarm uninstalled. Then I went to an audio store to install a factory add-on alarm, the Hornet 727T. But the problem is that the warning chirps would start going off at random times now. So I brought my car back to the audio store to have the sensitivity turned down the first time and have it turned down some more the second time but the warning chirps still goes off. The audio store thought it was the alarm unit that was causing the problem so he installed a brand new alarm and I ensured that the sensitivty was turned way down but the warning chirps are still going off. I had this problem for over a month now and I'm sure there are no cars going by or any loud vibrations when the warning chirps goes off. So I'm sure the warning chirps goes off at random times. I wanted to get a refund from the audio store but he told me he can either give me store credit or swap the alarm with an aftermarket alarm. I suspect that installing another alarm would do the same thing and I have absolutely no use for store credit, and it's not possible for me to get my money back. So what should I do or why is the warning chirps still going off? I was told that the car might have been going into sleep mode and checks if the doors are locked every now and then but he don't know how to fix it. So any advice or suggestions? Any professional suggestions about why the warning chirps are going off on a new car, when the sensitivity is turned way down already?
BTW, Hornet is made by DEI, the same company that makes Viper.
