Hello, If it is the same size engine,, you can make minor adjustments to the trans bolt up. Good luck !!!

you can use any engine if you use the same type engine it will go right in if you use a different type you may need to change other parts if you plan on using the truck on the road many states have emission laws that you will have to follow like you can only use the same manufacturer and newer engine[you can put a 99 tacoma v6 into a 97 that had a 4 cyl]but you will need to change electrical and may have to have a custom ecu made so when tested it will say it is for a v6 but have your trucks vin #

either or if its a v6 4x4, get a v6 out of a 2wd and it will work as long as its the same engine code ie 89-95 toyota v6s are 3vze and 4 cylinders are 22re so if its the same code it will fit. if your swapping it for another engine to fit in there like non toyota engine, i have seen everything from a supra 2jz engine, to chevy 350, nissan SR20, chevy 4.3 v6 but all depends on your taste style and if you want to keep it stock, high budget or low budget.
