it seems to have transmission problems reported on the internet,

If you're interested in a used Toyota Matrix, there are a few things to keep in mind. First of all, early Matrix models were missing a couple of important safety features: side airbags and stability control. These features were added (as options) in model-year 2005. Also note that stability control was offered only on models equipped with an automatic transmission. You also might encounter all-wheel-drive versions of the Matrix or Matrix XR; they produced slightly less power and came with the automatic only. All-wheel drive was discontinued for the 2007 model year.

other then that, a decent vehicle

yea its a pretty good car, some of them have transmissions probably from what I heard. My aunts 2003 toyota matrix xr is still in good condition and its been well maintained and its still running strong, no problems whatsoever. Theres some models of the matrix xrs, not the new ones for 2009, that has a 2zz engine which is pretty cool high revving engine, but takes premium, and theres some awd models, but they are only in auto. either way any matrix you choose should be pretty good. good luck

yes. they have some transmission issues as the other viewer mention.

however, it does not seems to lower the price and it is kind of in the middle of cheap and expensive range.

For that kind of price, I prefer something more unique.

I did look at one years ago but their price is quite high.

It is asking for $16000 at that time which I can almost get a

Toyota Camry CE which is a much bigger and solid build car.

I guess it is a matter of taste and it is lifeback you can move thing

around easier.

good luck on your car searching.
