Default 2006/2007 Toyota Rav4?

My husband and I are looking to expand our family this summer, and because of that we are also researching larger cars to purchase. After researching as much as we could, we've decided on the Rav4.

However, I wanted some personal opinions. The dealer was trying to get us to buy the car, so we weren't 100% sure what to think of his answers.

If you have a Rav4, what do you think about the rear side hatch? Does that cause problems?

What warnings/advice/suggestions could give us about this car?

I've heard nothing but good things about the RAV4 from owners. If our family expands, that's probably our first choice.

BTW, you were smart to not let the dealer pressure you. Kudos.

Great vehicle. Been driving one for the last year and it is the best. The side hatch can be a little tricky in the parking lot when you're trying to load groceries etc but we like it better then having to reach up and pull a hatch down.

The redesigned RAV4 is an awesome vehicle. In fact I've been planning on getting a fully loaded one for my dad as a gift once I get enough money. Either way you can't go wrong with a Toyota. The only thing I don't like about the new RAV4 is the fact that not too many options are available compared with other similar cars. For example, the 2007 Honda CRV has an optional navigation system and the Toyota doesn't. But that shouldn't stop you from buying one. They are excellent cars.

P.S. Do not get the third row because you won't be able to fit anyone in there at all.

Every automotive magazine praises the RAV4. They are great cars. However, some would prefer the trunk opening upwards instead of to the side. It's not a major issue. Some might find it odd at first, but after they get used to how the trunk opens, it's really just like a normal hatch.

May I suggest the V6 model. You won't be dissapointed.
