Default toyota corolla verso water leak - service manual or help anyone?

in a 2002 toyota corolla verso there is a transparent pipe on the passenger side, above the a/c unit, behind the glovebox. it is leaking water into the car. does anyone know where this pipe is supposed to go and what it's for? is it an a/c overflow or a drain?

u should have a drain coming out around the passenger side firewall under the hood. may be hard to see. possibly is stopped up with leaves and stuff and making the water drain back into the car.

That is your A/C condensor drain tube. It sounds like it's clogged up. Could be from leaves that come in through the outside ram vents. These are located where your windshield wipers are. If you look at them, are there any screens? If not and you see leaves, then that is how the leaves are getting into the A/C - heater core casing. You will need to re-screen this by removing the air dam and re attaching some type of screening material.

Another problem, could be the end of the line might have been sealed by a mud dauber wasp. They like to build in these tubes. You will need to find the end of the plastic tube coming out of the firewall, that is going into the engine area. When you open the hood, the wall closest to the windshield is called the firewall. Near the passernger side to the middle of this wall you will find the end of the plastic tube. I suggest a coat hanger, that is cut and bent straight. Stick that into the tube, move it around a bit and see if any water comes out of it. If so, you just unclogged the drain.

Only other problem I can think of is the tube might be cracked within the firewall. Inside the cab area. If so, you will need to get a piece of the tube that has a complete diameter. Take it to your nearest hardware store and ask someone to help you find a tube just slightly bigger than the one you have. Just so it slides over the original tube. If the break is between the tube, then you can slide the bought one over the two ends within the firewall, and use a cement glue to seal it. If it's at one end, then you will have to slide it over the broken end, cement glue it, and try to add a piece of the original tube at the end, cementing it also, so it can fit through the firewall to help drain excess water.

Hope this helps.
