The federal hybrid tax rebate is filed as part of your income tax filing. How much you are eligible for depends on the model and when the vehicle was purchased. Consult a tax professional for exact details.

First of all, the Feds don't have a rebate. It is a "gross taxable income reduction (or deduction)"















2ndly, you don't apply for it, you claim it on your income tax return.















3rdly; I'm assuming, you bought a Toyota, since you asked in that category....so you need to read the following link all the way through ( Toyota incentives have been reduced, depending on when you bought your Hybrid)

You may be able to qualify for additional state benefits. Check with your states IRS office.

You are out of luck. You could claim on your taxes that you have a Prius hybrid and you could get a deduction. However, since Toyota had a cap at I believe 60,000 Prius' are no longer eligible. Other models may be though. Check with your accountant to be certain or do your own research at the IRS website. DO NOT RELY ON DEALER INFO.
