Toyota shifts at 3500 RPMS?

Default Toyota shifts at 3500 RPMS?

My toyota camry does not shift out of first gear till i reach 3500 rpms is this normal or is my transmission messed up































I just had the head replaced and the valves cleaned and the timing belt replaced. The car now has 110K miles it wasn't doing it before I had the head and everything replaced what could it be















by the way it is a 2001

doesn't necessarily mean trans problems. there are many inputs that control shift points. have shop that performed work double check that they didn't leave any wires or hoses unplugged and maybe recheck timing.

I am not sure, it could be clutch, may be pressure plate is wearing out.Talk to some reputable mechanic.

We asked one of our associates who has owned Toyotas and works on cars to help with your istuation. He suggests that sometimes your car may not shift out of first gear up until 3500 rpms. It depends on your rate of acceleration. It?s a tough one to diagnose, and unfortunately, you may be better off taking it to a dealer or mechanic to get it checked out.
