Default '01 Toyota Corolla- the dreaded grinding?

About three months ago there was a terrible grinding going on in my car, found out that I needed to completely get new brakes, pads, rotors, the whole deal. So I completely replaced all of those things and the noise stopped, except for about once a month or so when it would come back as I was braking fairly slowly- like at stop signs.

Recently it went all out, and the grind started up as I was just driving straight. Pulled over, tried to see what was going on, and when I got back in and turned the car back on, it stopped again. And I haven't heard it for the last three days-

I realize this needs to be looked at, and it's going to be taken care of within the next few days, but can anyone stab a guess at what's going on?

Driving through mud/contaminated liquid/slurry/very dusty air, most likely the cause of the problem. Otherwise, check the brake wheel cylinders being jammed due to corrosion

Probably drove through sand or dirt or something. Next time do not wait until you need all brake parts. If you had done proper maintenance you may have saved hundreds.
