How many years could I expect to get out of a 1997 Toyota Corolla with 100,000 miles on it?

Depends on how well it was taken care of to begin with. But another 10 years or 100,000 miles is possible. And then that depends on how well you take care of it.

I would say it has another 6-7 reliable years left, or another 100k.

Oh my that's still a baby.

It'll go for another 150,000 as long as it was taken care of.

Corolla's are sorta like the "TERMINATOR" I think - some of them NEVER DIE... if you take care of them they can outlive most humans!

LOL

I'm sorta kidding of course - but truthfully - they can live for YEARS!

AutoOnInfo.net lists these high mileage Corollas on its 300,000+-Mile Roster:

1984 Toyota Corolla with 522,100 miles

1991 Toyota Corolla with 400,058 miles

1989 Toyota Corolla with 328,700 miles

1976 Toyota Corolla with 321,569 miles

1994 Toyota Corolla with 319,123 miles

1997 Toyota Corolla with 302,431 miles

1990 Toyota Corolla with 300,072 miles

1993 Toyota Corolla with 300,046 miles.

If your vehicle was made in Japan, it seems likely that it would run well for at least another 20 years and at least another 200,000 miles (barring unusual abuse); however, most of the Corollas sold in North America since the mid-1990s (and maybe earlier) were made in North America, and making an estimate for these is difficult.

Nonetheless, AutoOnInfo.net's detailed reliability and durability studies suggest that a typical 25-year-old Toyota automobile is about as troublesome as a typical 5-year-old General Motors automobile. Consequently, it seems quite safe to say that your vehicle is less than halfway through its useful life.

My first corrolla I bought was a 95 and it had 78k and when I sold it it had 320k LOL

I got it when I turn 18 and sold it when I was 23, so if you do the math, it took me 5yr to drive the extra 242k. That is if you take good care of it.

I did the maintence my self before time, I still see 89 corollas out there running like champs. Hope that helps you...

I own a 87 Corolla GTS FX16 with 350,000 plus miles on it and still kickin'. as long as you show your Toyota some TLC it'll show it right back.

A Corolla may need not much TLC for longevity. The site manager of AutoOnInfo.net describes himself as a moderately abusive driver and he has managed to accumulate more than 500,000 miles on his Corolla. For a summary of his experiences, see:

and for his rather current mileage accumulation, see:
