I changed the oil and that's when the light comes on. I just need to shut it off!

You are due for a shop visit.

If you think that light has anything to do with oil changes, even after reading your owners manual, this is over your head.

Find your favorite mechanic and let them handle this.

Go have your engine checked. It's on for a reason.

try removing the backup fuse from under the hood, if you do that and it still comes on then there is an issue somewhere..

you will need it checked, i believe autozone does it for free. they use a obd2 scan tool to see what the problem is.

do you mean the maintenance required light

or the one thats saying check with a symbol

cause if its the check engine light, bring it to a mechanic to get it checked out

if its the maintenance light, then when the car is off put the key in the ignition hold down the black trip meter button on the speedometer and then while holding/pushing the button down turn the key at the same time to the on position and the mileage gauge should show 3-5 bars counting down then it will show 000000 for about 2 seconds, then it will be reset,

Take it to your parts store and have them pull the code for you and then clear it. Its free and should give you some idea whats wrong with it. Your light will be off for a while at least
