Likely warped rotors. Because they are warped, they "pulse" when you brake.

Go to a brake shop and see if they can road test and inspect. You might be able to get away with just turning the rotors if that's the case, but they will probably want to sell you the whole brake job.

first question is... is the vibration coming from the front or rear. chances are you have a warped brake rotor. when you step on the brake it's called brake pulsating and when you release the brake it goes away. take the vehicle to a midas or mieneke shop and have them check the brakes by "road testing" it, or have the rotors checked with whats called a rotor latteral run out gage. then have the bad rotor replaced.

hi,

if its vibrating it can be either ur brakes, rotors, tires or rack and pinion.

I recently have the same issue.

if your steering wheel jerks when you brake maybe its the rack and pinion. check your tires condition.
