Default 87 or 89 Octane for my 2006 Toyota Corolla?

I have used 89 Octane since I bought my brand new Toyota Corolla in 2006. I am thinking about switching to 87 Octane. Will this switch hurt my car, or engine or anthing bad would happen to my car?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

It was designed to run on 87 octane, it won't hurt a thing if the motor is stock. Higher compression pistons or turbo/supercharger boost would require higher boost. Higher than 89 even.

stay with 87

the 89 is doing nothing but costing you more at the pump, there is no real difference that your car will notice in the gas, heck you might get better mileage with the 87

Thats what it was designed to run on
