Yes, there are some Toyotas still made in Japan, but with the dollar losing value, it's cheaper for them to be built here. I have no knowledge about 90's Camrys.

Look at the Vin if the first didget it a J it is maid in Japan.

Besides the above Yahoo answers, probably quickest & easiest way is to open the driver's door...and to look for Toyota manufacturing label that will also have VIN (located or affixed in several places) but if you look carefully at the metal label one at the driver's side door it is more detailed and actually shows the exact specific Toyota manufacturing plant the vehicle came off the assembly line...
