Either one will work, most just disconnect the - though.

Either,but should be the negative,so if your wrench touching anything when doing so will not cause a short.

Save the effort and just pull the ECM/PCM fuse in that black fuse box under the hood.

DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL FOR 30 SECOND AND RECONNECT.YOU WILL HAVE DRIVEABILTY PROBLEMS AFTER THIS IS DONE BECAUSE THE COMPUTER WILL HAVE TO RELEARN.I DON' T KNOW WHY YOU ARE TRYING TO DO THIS,BUT IF YOU ARE TRYING TO TURN OFF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.IT WILL TURN BACK ON AS SOON AS THE COMPUTER DETECTS A PROBLEM.GOOD LUCK
