Default I have a 1991 Toyota MR-2 with a 5SFE engine and the car won't start?

When I try to start the car there is no spark. I changed the spark plugs, checked the battery and wiring. The car has 85k miles on it. Any insight onto what the problem might be would be very helpful.

I don't know what this has for an ignition, but the coil could be bad. the 12VDC isn't going to the coil.

I don't know that much about your particular ignition system.

If no spark check the wires that feed the ignition coil , plus make up a diagram of the ignition coil and spark plug wires , disconnect the wires , unplug the coil , unbolt the coil check it's housing for cracks , bulges , dis-colouring and if they exist replace the coil via a do it yourself auto wreckers.

Hopes that helps and best of luck.By the way check and clean any ground wires or connections , plus clean the plug in connections too.

It might be a great idea to buy a service manual for that vehicle it will have troubling shooting step by step info for no spaark situations etc.
