mr2 engine swap (sw20)?

Default mr2 engine swap (sw20)?

i plan to switch my non-turbo engine (5S-FE) with the mr2 turbo engine (3S-GTE).































what are the draw backs? i live in the US, can i put the Japaneses engine version in my car?































1993 mr2















will i need to replace my brake disk and pads, exhaust manifold/pipes, battery, ect.

Well your gas mileage is probably going to go down but who cares you going to get substantially more horsepower.

no,its illegal to have japanese engine,unless i passes the states smog test.i will actually give you a better fuel mileage at low speeds,but suck up alot at a higher rpm.

It's a grey area in the law, so you could and get away with it as long as you keep your emissions equipment.































Obviously more power will use more gas. But keep out of boost for daily driving and your gas mileage will be pretty similar. I'm gonna assume you've done your homework on the swap by joining up on a Celica/MR2 forum. Your fellow owners are always the best source of help.
