For best MPG figure about 60 mpg on the highway, but sometimes that's difficult to do because everybody else is doing 75 to 80 and when you get to a merge ramp you'll piss people off.
Anyway, when you go up hill, keep the accelerator constant. You'll make up the difference when you come down the other side.
The grade of gas has little impact.
Keep your air cleaner fresh, this is the nicest thing you can do for mpg. It helps the engine breath.
Keep your tires at the rated pressure, it's unreal how much this affects your mileage and even more bazzare how many people blow this one off. Don't think it matters, ride a bike with low tire pressure and then fill them up and note the difference.
Corolla's are cool. We own two and I love them! Sometimes I can actually get my new one up to 45 mpg! It' takes some coaxing though. By the way, in city driving you do best if you time your lights and avoid quick starts from stop signs or lights.
Be cool!
