Wiring. The connector to the back of the adapter probably fell off, or is loose.

by dc adaper im guessing you mean cigarette lighter? if so are you 100 percent sure the fuse isnt blown. sometimes they look ok but there blown. double check it with a test light best way. if thats not the case maybe theres a broken wire mostly likely around teh socket somewhre or soemthing metal maybe in the adpter itself.
