If you got the money to burn, get a turbo boost put in it and change the engine(optional). I have a Carolla too, and that is what I was thinking about doing if I had the money at one time.

I'd say remove the radiator cap and drive a new car under it except that the last time I gave an answer like that the questioner had me cited for 'not an answer' and Y/A agreed even after I pointed out that it WAS but just not an answer he liked. So, I won't say that. I have driven most cars I owned for 10 to 15 years and sincerely believe that's the best way to save money for something nice that you really want. But I don't believe in throwing a bunch of money into an old car, which has no market value. And to make that Corolla, which really has no market value, run with more power would set you back a bunch of money.

If i were you, I'd save some money and sell that car. Not to be funny, but if you want power why did you buy a Toyota Corrola in the first place??

I've known a few people who've owned Corolla's. About the only improvement you can make is to simply light it on fire!! It will only ever be a corolla!

im not sure about the 97s but i know a few 05 xrs owners that have a short ram intake and an exhaust not sure what else they have. An intake will probably be your cheapest upgrade next to putting in premium gas. I personally would just consider your 97 corolla an official commuter and be happy with that until you save some cash for a new car.

Corolla is built for economy, not for speed.

It's easy, I have a corolla too and I change the Spark plugs for the Bosch Platinum +2 and and now it's fast, you will feel the diference becouse will be fast again, but remenber Bosch Platinum +2 no +4 becouse that ones are not good Ok.

$5.00 each one and if you can used premium gas will be a little much better.

Good Luck .
