MSRP is what the manufacture thinks is a good price, retail price is what the Dealer charges. A dealer can sell the car for any price they choose. They won't sell below MSRP unless it is a sale. Always try to stay as close to the MSRP as possible. If you go in with confidence then you will not get ripped off. If you have a trade-in, let them know after you get the price for the car. They will up the price to make up for a trade. So tell them about a trade in after you have set up for a down payment and credit check.
