NO, do not listen to above answer, the AE85 was NEVER sold in North America. The SR5 is an AE86 (look at the firewall). The AE85 is a slightly different chassis, with less welds on it. Both the GTS and SR5 are true AE86's having IDENTICAL CHASSIS. There are quite a few differences between the SR5 and GTS, but none of them go into the STEEL of the car.
The AE85 in japan was powered by a 3A engine not the 4A's in american cars. And all Levins are not AE85's, there were Levin GT and Levin GTVs that were AE86 based. I think there was also a very low grade Sprinter that was based on the AE85 chassis.
