Toyota had originally intended to release it for the 2010 model year, but with economic conditions, especially the truck market being what they are, they've decided to hold off any additional offerings for the Tundra at this point. From what I have been told by reps from Toyota, expect the earliest time-frame for a diesel for the Tundra to be 2012.

Toyota has a small diesel mounted in LC 70's in Australia. There has been some talk of Toyota using this engine since it meets the Euro IV emissions.































The show truck that Toyota USA built was a 1 1/2 ton truck and used a 8.0L Hino truck engine and transmission.
