What kind of gas mileage does the 4 cylinder Toyota Camry get?

Default What kind of gas mileage does the 4 cylinder Toyota Camry get?
I'm speaking of the 4 cylinder Camry with the automatic transmission. I checked out the real world driving figures for 2006-2009 models at "www.fueleconomy.gov", but most people are claiming 23/28 MPG. Is that correct? Shouldn't the 4 cylinder model be seeing no less than 30-32?

you might get 30 mpg on an 09 if you drive on the hiway with an egg under your right foot.

EPA ratings for the 4cyl Toyota Camry are usually 21mpg city/31mpg highway/25mpg combined.















Actual owners seem to report close to the combined figure.

If you properly maintain your Camry (such as proper tire inflation), and you drive carefully (coast a lot and stay off of the brakes), you could probably see in the 30s, but...































Remember that the Camry is a midsized sedan with a lot of features that are standard... more convenience items and a larger size means more weight, which leads to lowered fuel economy...
