Default is the navi in a toyota camry the same as the one in all lexuses?
i know lexus makes toyota im not an idiot. but i was wondering if they would still use the exact same navigation system.

I think the IS is the only model that uses the same navigation as in toyotas, The navigations in the rest of the cars are touch screen while the ones in toyota are not. But, again i'm not that into toyota's or lexus's, so if toyota does have a model with touch screen navigation, chances are that it is the same one. Along goes with the non touch screen navigation. The software will most likely be different in both to ensure there there is more luxury features on the lexus to enforce the price gap.

Even among Lexus models, there are different generation navigation systems, so the map DVD updates are not always interchangeable. Same for Toyota. (For example, the navigation system in 2001-2003 Toyota Prius is different than 2004-2005 Toyota Prius (Nav Gen. 4), which is different from 2006-2009 Toyota Prius (Nav. Gen. 5), and yet again different than the upcoming 2010 Toyota Prius (Nav. Gen. 6?)... oh, and the navigation on the Toyota Prius has always been touchscreen...)































But yes, the navigation system (company) is the same between the Toyota and Lexus models.































If the same generation navigation system, then yes it will be the same as found in other Toyota/Lexus models with the same generation navigation system.
