It's a great car for running around in. Good mileage, and reliable, to boot! Specs? It has round rubber tires, see through glass, and single key ignition. What else do you need in a 12 yr. old beater? Good luck.

It is a great car and very reliable. if you can find one that isn't miled out it would be a good choice. As always with a used car, get a buyers inspection done. It will save you thousands in unexpected repairs and can be used as a negotiating chip if you do find minor issues. For specs go to edmunds.com . Where are you located? Toyota never made an XE Corolla of any vintage here in the States. 1997 was the year we had the Standard, DX, and Limited Edition. There was a VEand LE model for 1998, but never an XE model. Regardless of where you live, any Corolla is a great car and it will be virtually trouble-free even if it's twelve years old.
