Is it normal for my 06 Corolla S to do this?

Default Is it normal for my 06 Corolla S to do this?
I have an 06 corolla S and when I start the car the lights are off which is normal. Then if I turn them on I can't turn them off unless I turn off the car. Which is fine but I am wondering if that is normal or if there is something I can do to turn them off. I know some cars you have to do something special but maybe it's just like this.

Sounds like your vehicle headlights are operating normally.Corollas are not equipped with the option where you can turn the daytime running lights on or off as desired.Once you start the car the lights should turn on and stay on until the ignition switch is turned off.Good luck.

this is normal, the drl can be disabled if you dont like it.

its normal.































i've noticed on both toyota's my parents own (91 previa and 94 corolla) that if you start it, headlights will turn on automatically. BUT if you start with the handbrake engaged, the headlights won't turn on. so maybe that's why the lights are off when you start the car. my aunt has a corolla LE around your car, but i'm not really familliar with their car.
