Can I pull a fifth-wheel trailer with my 2007 Toyota Tundra Crewmax. It has a 51/2 ft bed.?

I have gotten conflicting answers for this question. Some have said absolutely no while others have said I can with an automatic slider, so which is it ?

It comes down to what is the weight of the 5th wheel and what is the allowable towed weight for the truck. And I don't mean the manufacturers advertised weight for the 5th wheel. You should weigh it as it's loaded for travel. Additionally you need to look at the Gross Combined Weight Rating for the pickup. That is the weight of the truck, loaded for travel, plus the weight of the 5th wheel, loaded for travel. You want to make sure that you don't exceed either the Gross Allowable Towed or the Gross Allowable Combined. In fact I prefer to try staying around 10 % below either one for a safety factor.

The other dude is right, but also the problem you run into with a short bed - extended cab pickup is turning with a 5th wheel RV. Tight turns can cause the front of the trailer to hit the cab of the truck.

Guys at the Toyota Stealership will tell you that it is no problem. Personally, would get the Ford F250 or the Chubby C2500.
