When any of our Toyota's start doing that, I change the oil. I have found that it helps to use Toyota brand oil filters - they have an anti drain back valve that keeps oil in the engine oil passages when you shut the engine off. You don't say how often you change the oil, but I do it every 3,000 miles, sooner than recommended, usually I only hear the ticking if I let them go over 3,000. Pennzoil also seems to help. Don't use the cheap oil at Jiffylube and the like. Hope that helps, Dean
