Okay, so this is my second question . my 1989 getting HP and Torque. a stock mk3- STOCK to 500 + how much would it cost????

1986.5-1992 is MkIII.































Stock to 500whp, will cost you around $10,000, depending on how you go about it, where you get the parts, etc and so forth.































My build has set me back around $16,000 so far; but that's because I went with as much top-grade parts as I could, instead of taking the cheap route.

$8,000 - $10,000 sounds about right. Depending on how much of the work you can do yourself you might be able to get away doing it cheaper OR spend the money you save on better parts.































You'll probably need to do the basics first:















- Better flowing exhaust (less restrictive) if you don't have one already















- Larger injectors to support your HP goal















- Bigger turbo(s) to flow more air















- Decent intercooler































and then you might need to go and beef up the engine internals too.















- Rods















- Pistons















- Get the head and block machined and fit a 'proper' head gasket































You didn't mention what transmission you have, manual should be fine, auto will need to be beefed up so that's an extra cost right there.































Those are just the basics I guess, there's always a whole lot more you could do if you want to spend the money.































With 500HP at the wheels you'll probably also want to upgrade the brakes because stopping is just as important as going fast. No point getting yourself killed.
